Colorado Democratic Assembly/Convention May 17th

Frequently Asked Questions

Are delegates required to check-in on Friday?

No. Delegates and Jefferson County alternates may optionally check-in on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. This early check-in is intended to reduce the check-in lines on Saturday morning.

May alternates check-in on Friday?

Yes . Alternates from Jefferson County can optionally check-in on Friday afternoon because Jefferson County will seat alternates using on a ranking based on votes received in house district elections on March 15th.

When does registration begin?

Delegates and Jefferson County alternates may check-in either Friday afternoon from 1 PM to 7 PM at the Double Tree Hotel or Saturday at 7 AM at the World Arena.

How will Jefferson County alternates be seated?

Jefferson County (and 3 other counties) will seat alternates using a ranked order that is based on the number of votes each alternate received at the house district convention/assemblies on March 15th. The seating of Jefferson County alternates will be by ranked order within house district and presidential preference. (Note: Most other counties will seat alternates based on time of check-in, however, we believe the ranking has the advantage of merit and convenience.)

When will I receive my call letter and credentials?

Call letters containing your credentials should be in your mail box by Wednesday, May 14th. If you are a delegate or alternate and you do not receive your credentials by mail you can get replacement credentials at the Hampton Inn, near the World Arena, begining at 7 AM on Saturday.

We had 3905 delegates and alternates present for the County Convention and 3397 delegates and alternates present for the County Assembly. This turnout represents your commitment to electing Democrats to all levels of government in 2008.
