One Colorado Pride
June Is Pride Month
Happy Colorado Pride! Pride is a time to celebrate who we are and how far we have come, especially in Colorado.
In the 1990s, when Colorado was known as the ‘Hate State’, the possibility of Colorado being a leader in the nation for LGBTQIA+ equality was merely a hopeful wish. Today, in Colorado we must not take our advancements towards equality for granted.
As we witness the rise of harmful actions in state capitols, school boards, and political campaigns, as well as anti-LGBTQ rhetoric across the country, Pride serves as a reminder that our work is not finished until we ALL have an equal opportunity to live successful, healthy, authentic lives.
Progress does come! It will come from community members who put in the work to build a brighter future.
During the month of June and beyond, we hope queer, trans, and intersex Coloradans and allies can safely attend a Pride event near them while keeping in mind our history, present circumstances, and the future we would like to create for ourselves.
Happy Pride!

No Kings Day (Arvada)
Saturday, June 14th, 10:00 am - Noon
No Kings! National Day of Defiance
Olde Town Arvada - at the bridge where Grandview crosses over Wadsworth Blvd.
This is an APA-hosted event, in coordination with Indivisible.
We’ll take a group photo at the overpass at the start of the rally and then give directions for most attendees to walk from the Grandview overpass DOWN to either the East or West side of Wadsworth and stand on the sidewalks along Wadsworth, starting from the Grandview overpass north to Ralston Road. PLEASE DO NOT HANG ANY BANNERS FROM THE OVERPASS FENCING FACING TRAFFIC. PLEASE DO NOT STAND IN GRANDVIEW STREET. We must stay on sidewalks and not impede traffic.
A core principle behind all events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
There is some parking on residential streets east of Wadsworth. The Olde Town RTD parking garage west of Wadsworth offers the most reliable parking, including elevators and ramps for any mobility-impaired folks.

Hands Off Public Education
Organizing in School Districts to Defend Our Students, Interactive Training
Wednesday, June 18th, 7-8:30pm ET
Click here to register and for more information.
The budget reconciliation bill being debated in Congress would cut BILLIONS from our public schools to help pay for a trillion dollar tax giveaway to the super-wealthy.
The anti-public education extremists’ end goal is clearer now than ever: bankrupt our public education system and completely resegregate our schools and, ultimately, our society.
There is a growing national chorus of communities saying “Hands Off” public education and calling for the future that our children deserve. Learn how to bring educators and communities together to join in at the school district level in a way that creates national impact.
We need you to help stop them and save our public schools. Together, we can save our democracy and keep building something better.
