| Hello and welcome to the Blue Beacon!
The Blue Beacon is a publication rooted in hope and positivity. However, there have been incidents of violence right in our backyard. On June first, a group of peaceful people wanting to raise awareness of the hostages in Gaza, were attacked with a flame thrower and Molotov Cocktails. I am personally horrified by this violence and share the grief of this community. There are many other incidents of violence occurring across our country. It is more important than ever that we practice non-violent protests. Thank you to the thousands of you who did this on No Kings Day last weekend.
Please join us for the John Noriega Memorial Picnic on Sunday, June 22, hosted by the Labor Advisory Committee. We are also excited to recognize Pride Month with our annual JeffCo Pride night on Friday, June 27.
We continue to encourage all those who are interested in their community and having good, compassionate government, to attend City Council, County Commissioner, and School Board meetings. This is your opportunity to make your voice heard. These meetings are on the JeffCo Dems Calendar and listed below. Too often, it is only hateful voices at these meetings. The good Democrats who serve in these elected offices need to know they have your support for progressive policies.
