| Hello and welcome to the Blue Beacon!
Last week was a very hard week for the JeffCo Dems, as once again gun violence came to one of our schools. Our hearts go out to all the students, parents, staff and law enforcement who have been touched by this tragedy. The people of Jefferson County have risen to the occasion. You can help by making a contribution. If you need mental health support, there are also resources available. More details below. We had an excellent Second Saturday thanks to Chris deGruy-Kennedy, President of the Bell Policy Institute. He presented on a graduated tax ballot measure, details below.
The Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner will be September 28. We are pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin will be our headline speaker. We will also be honoring former County Commissioner and former State Representative Tracy Kraft-Tharp with the Eleanor award. The absolute last day to buy tickets is September 17. Purchase Tickets
The election season is in full swing. There is a very important election this November and now is the time to get involved. Plan at least one day to canvass for your local School Board, City Council, or Mayoral candidate. See the JeffCo Dems Candidate page to find out who is running in your city. In Solidarity, Kathryn Wallace, Chair Jefferson County Democratic Party |
